RESSLab co-organizes the Summer School du Gymnase de Köniz 2018

Dr. Albano Sousa, PhD Candidate Alex Harltoper and Prof. Lignos organized an educational module during the 2018 summer school des classes MINT de Köniz.
Between July 2 to 5 2018, RESSLab gave a training session on basic principles applied to structures to withstand gravity and lateral loading. During the 3-hour demonstration 14 high-school students had the opportunity to participate in two hands-on challenges that were physically tested by means of small-scale experimental testing. In particular, they utilized an educational kit MOLA and experienced how structures resist gravity loads. In the second challenge the students experienced how structures behave during earthquakes. Their model structures were tested on an electric shake table.
