SCCER-FURIES partners BFH-PVLab has achieved some important milestones over the last couple of months.

Impact of rapid changes in solar irradiance on PV installations
Rapid changes in solar irradiance lead to short-term power changes in photovoltaic (PV) modules. Therefore, solar irradiance and PV power on the entire PV installation at the SCCER-Demonstrator Mont-Soleil were measured. The study evidences that the PV power changes caused by rapid changes in solar irradiance are much lower on a large PV area than on an individual PV module. The same measurement is currently running on the PV installation on the roof of the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Burgdorf.

New BFH / PV-Lab Research Project Connecting WP4 with WP1
In December 2017, the SFOE approved a new research project submitted by the BFH / PV-Lab called “SimZukunft”. Project partners are the BFH / PV-Lab, the city of Burgdorf, Adaptricity and Localnet. The underlying idea is to develop scenarios with regard to electricity grid planning for the city of Burgdorf until 2050; the research will incorporate SCCER-FURIES results from both WP1 and WP4.
