PEL PhD Thesis - Mr. Uzair Javaid

Mr. Uzair Javaid has succesfully defended his PhD thesis, titled "MVDC Distribution Fed High Power Multi-Motor Drives". The examination committee was composed of: Prof. Emil Levi (LJMU, UK), Dr. Silvio Colombi (GE, Switzerland), Dr. Rachid Cherkaoui (EPFL, Switzerland) and supported by Prof. Mario Paolone (EPFL, Switzerland). Thesis deals with high power MVDC power distribution networks for marine applications and investigates their dynamics and stability under various operating regimes. The research work has been sponsored by ABB Medium Voltage Drives, Turgi, Switzerland.

Uzair will be soon joining ABB in Turgi, Switzerland, continuing to work on high power electronics technologies for various grid applications.
