First Edited Book for Junior Researchers of COST Action TU0602

Nicolas Lachance-Bernard (LASIG) et al. publish the first Junior Researcher Network's book of the Cost Action TU0602 on land management for urban dynamics

In September 2009, LASIG and EPFL hosted a Scientific Training Worshop (STW) for the COST Action TU0602 "Land Management for Urban Dynamics". The participants, divided into five groups of three people sharing different backgrounds (economics, architecture, engineering and geography), elaborated five different proposals addressing a series of problems focused on the Gland area between Lausanne and Geneva. The main objectives were to explore how different countries in Europe would approach these problems given their different regimes for urban development, and to experiment the complexity of problem-orientated decision making in multi-professional and international teams. This book is aimed at planners and stakeholders who are interested in land management regimes, re-allocation processes and management of development projects within European countries. Distinct approaches are developed and complementary analysis present some of the distinct ways to deal with urban development needs and expectations in Europe. Nicolas Lachance-Bernard is a PhD student under the supervision of Prof François Golay at LASIG. Both are members of the COST Action TU0602.
