Since 2003, the EPFL has been conducting an annual mobility survey. In 2017, the survey will take place between Tuesday, 25 April and Sunday 7 May, 2017.

Every year, EPFL students and staff are asked to participate to the annuel moblity survey. It contributes to a better understanding of the means of transportation used by the EPFL community, and to determine the right accompanying measures for the Mobility plan. Colllected answers are also a measurement tool for the efficiency of the School's politics that promotes soft and shared mobility.

As a reminder, in 2016, the mobility survey brought to light a decrease in the use of cars and public transportation, in favour of cycling and walking. For the first time, bikes have outnumbered cars on the campus.

The long-term goal is of course to maintain and ensure the accessibility and the attractiveness of the campus. The various measures that will be adopted in the future also depend on this survey.

Everyone at the EPFL will receive an invitation e-mail to participate. Completing the survey only takes a few minutes and all contributors will participate in a random draw. Prizes are:

  • 1x bike BMC Alpenchallenge AC01 105 worth CHF 1'900.-
  • 3x Mobilis vouchers worth CHF 500.- each
