Born in ENAC, the start-up project MeduSoil came second last Wednesday on Climate Launchpad, the world’s largest green business idea competition. The project won in Cyprus against 1000 competitors worldwide.

The start-up project Medusoil was born and raised in the Laboratory for Soil Mechanics (LMS) of EPFL to provide sustainable solutions for the emerging challenges in the construction field related to weak soils, as well as for implementing foundation repair works. It won last Wednesday in Cyprus the second prize at Climate Launchpad, the world’s largest green business idea competition.

This year, roughly 1,000 green business ideas were submitted in 35 countries across the globe. Eleven projects came from Switzerland. Each participant had to pitch his or her idea in front of a renowned jury. Dimitrios Terzis, PhD student at LMS and Melis Sütman, scientist at LMS, presented the ENAC start-up project.

Climate Launchpad aims to promote the world’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change. A central team, located in the Netherlands, runs the organization. MeduSoil is supported by the ENABLE program of the Technology Transfer Office at EPFL and Innoseed ENAC, a program which helps ENAC researchers to broaden their horizons when considering the outreach of their academic work and its value for society.
