Your Camipro card is not just the “open sesame” that allows you access to the EPFL buildings, including the prestigious Rolex Learning Center, or your EPFL identity card. It also enables you to pay for things on the campus, take books out of the library (also at UNIL), make photocopies, borrow a bike, rent a car, and even recharge your electric car for free.
The Camipro card is the “master” card for everyone in the EPFL community – including teachers and other employees, as well as the students. Apart from its subtle graphic design, inspired by various statistics representative of the students in our school (numbers of men and women, students in each faculty etc.), it effectively means you’re carrying the key to countless useful services in your wallet.
The Camipro card is quite simply indispensable for getting around the campus, gaining access to restricted areas or outside opening hours. If you should meet a security patrol one evening, because you’ve been working later than usual, they will ask you to show it, to make sure that you’re not an intruder. But this card is much more than evidence of authorization.
We spend a lot of time on the campus! At coffee-break, and again at lunch, or when you want to buy something at Négoce, you can use your Camipro card to pay. It’s rechargeable from your bank account (either at the counter or online, naturally). This way, you won’t always be looking for small change or dashing to the ATM. And of course, you can check the balance online, at any time.
The card also allows you to leave the campus on one of the bikes available at various pick-up points on the campus. If you feel like borrowing a book en route, at the Rolex Learning Center or UNIL, your card also gives you that possibility. And supposing that you want to travel to the other end of the canton? You can simply rent one of the Mobility CarSharing vehicles. Unless of course you already used the card to recharge your electric car for free!
