Meritxell Pacheco wins the Abertis International Research Award

Meritxell Pacheco, PhD student at the Transport and Mobility Laboratory (TRANSP-OR, ENAC), has received the 5th Abertis International Research Award in Transportation for her Master’s thesis “Traffic parameters estimation from the analysis of connected car data”. The ceremony took place on October 14 at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, in Santiago de Chile.

The Abertis International Research Prize in Transportation is awarded among the pool of national winning projects of the International Abertis Chairs Network. This is the first year that students have participated from the five countries where the Abertis Chairs network is present. 

Since 2003, Abertis and the Abertis Foundation have been promoting the creation of different chairs in collaboration with prestigious national and international universities and academic institutions. The first Chair was established in Spain alongside the Universidad Politécnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech, and subsequently the following Chairs were added: France (IFSTTAR École des Ponts), Puerto Rico (University of Puerto Rico), Chile (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) and Brazil (Universidad de Sao Paulo).
