Guest professor

Prof. Junjie Huang from Wuhan University obtained his B.Eng and M.Eng from Tongji University and his PhD from Drexel University. His research interests cover the numerical simulation of geomaterials and cementious materials as well as the simulation of ground motions. During his stay at EPFL he will develop methods for the simulation of near-field ground motions, which will comprise for the first time next to a horizontal component also the vertical component of ground motion. He will use these to investigate the seismic response of unreinforced masonry buildings when subjected to near-field excitation.
