Slobodan Mitrović won the first prize of the contest with his paper "Homometric Sets in Diameter-two and Outerplanar Graphs". Slobodan's paper was selected to be one of the five finalist papers, and he managed to get the first position after the presentation of his work during the MELECON 2014 Conference, which took place last Tuesday (15.04.2014) in Beirut, Lebanon.

After being selected in the local EPFL Student Paper Contest, Slobodan's paper was sent as the official entry from EPFL to the IEEE Region 8 (Europe, Africa, Middle East) Student Paper Contest. In this second-level selection his paper competed with 22 works from university students allover the region. On 8 March 2014, the Jury of the IEEE Region 8 SPC 2014 anonymously graded all the papers and selected the following five papers (in alphabetical order of the first author’s first name) to be presented at IEEE R8 MELECON Conference, 13-16 April 2014, Beirut, Lebanon.
